    Getting Here

    The nearest major airport to China Lake NAWS is the Inyokern Airport, located about 10 miles from the base.

    If arriving by car, take I-405 from the airport to the San Fernando Valley. Then take I-5 north to State Route 14. Remain on Highway 14 through Palmdale, Lancaster and Red Rock Canyon until you come to the Inyokern turnoff. Take Highway 178 East through Inyokern to China Lake.

    If sailors are in need of temporary lodging, the Visitors Quarters at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites are available with over 100 rooms. Call the Inn 24 hours a day for advance reservations. Their direct contact line is 760-939-3146.
